Subaru logo is a representation of the Pleiades star cluster in the constellation of Taurus. Six hot blue stars are neatly organized inside the dark blue background, standing for space or night sky. The big star on the left also represents Fuji Heavy Industries, while five smaller stars on the right stand for its subsidiaries, including Subaru, the automobile division.

Subaru is the Japanese name for the Pleiades star cluster M45, or "The Seven Sisters" (one of whom tradition says is invisible – hence only six stars in the Subaru logo), which in turn inspires the logo and alludes to the companies that merged to create FHI.
The use of blue color in the Subaru logo represents excellence and reliability of the Subaru vehicles, whereas the silver and black colors stand for their sophistication, elegance, creativity and perfection.
